Lift Your Head For Sleepin Pillow

Sleepin-Pillow-Top-Pic
From the slippery land of Greece, Sleepin Pillow have been a strong point throughout the Psychedelic Freakouts here on Captain SIB.
This perfectly arranged band, consisting of six talented musicians, blends together seamlessly, each member bringing his own talents and skills that clearly adds to the depths of Sleepin Pillow, with each track displaying a cavern full of ear-filling joy without upsetting the boundaries of pleasure.

    Superman's Blues
Their most splendid album for me so far has been the fantastically received “Superman’s Blues“. This perfectly consistent album presents a selection of songs that hold close a foundation of industrial sounds that have elements of Tool and Nine Inch Nails. The drums, bass and guitar are so tight that they can easily play those stabbing unorthodox time signatures that give off that hammering sound. This is indeed a satisfaction that Sleepin Pillow gives you as the listener.
With the guitars ranging from Dreamy Tingles to Meaty Heavy Distortion. Don’t be mistaken by thinking this is just another band that wish to sound like someone else, a flaw so many bands these days fall flat on, these guys know their craft, they know what direction they are heading and whats more, they have discovered their own identity with the music and sounds they produce.
What seems to be the crowd pleaser from this album is the track “Dope”, which from start to finish is a song built to please, with its balance of ups and downs it displays a mature approach to the album. Don’t be surprised when you are met with a blistering middle section that makes the hairs stand up and the brain contort, with a whole range of Keyboard sounds to string orchestration to Industrial Zaps, it indeed left my tin-foil hat a little squinty.
The magic of the music is held together by a vocal structure that has melody, tone and class, along with the ability to remain sinister throughout.
Coming from Thessaloniki, Greece, it is indeed pleasant to hear that they have kept their roots inside the music, there are songs where you can certainly hear the Greek Influences.
    Sleepin Pillow 3

With the release of their newest outing “This World is Over” on Smash Records I can already hear another direction the band have found along with sticking to that ultimate foundation that make Sleepin Pillow one pillow that you will not fall asleep upon.

Now friends, spend some cash, indulge in this band. Here is a video for your enjoyment.
